Spring has sprung here in the Northeast. To celebrate this momentous weather-based occasion, I played golf yesterday in balmy 86 degree heat. Caught up in the moment (and lacking any shorts I like), I hastily hacked off a pair of vintage Dockers into chino shorts (chorts?) to achieve what are potentially the daddest (which for the record are very different from daddiest) pleated bottoms known to mankind. Point is, the vibes are trending in the right direction these days, and a new season means a host of new gear to celebrate the rising temps.
I haven’t gotten a ton of summer-specific attire quite yet (as evidenced by my decision to take a pair of scissors to pants I wore all fall and winter), but I have come into a host of nice transitional pieces. It’s a bummer to admit, but Lord knows there’s gonna be a few days in the coming weeks that are weirdly, like, 49 degrees and rainy. So here are all of my recent pick-ups, from shoes to sweaters to, uh, more shoes.
Every Other Thursday Sweaters
The boy Ethan Glenn, who you can learn more about on this very blog, sent me two sweaters from his brand Every Other Thursday’s new collection and they are lovely. The cotton brown sweater is squarely in my zone—boxy, earth-toned, and because of the whole cotton thing, are decidedly not itchy. The mohair one is just handsome and a lovely shade of dark green, with subtle, tonal branding on the chest that I expect people will ask me about when I wear it.
Note: the cotton sweater runs very big. I got a size small and it fits perfectly if still slightly oversized. I got a medium in the mohair.
Cotton sweater, $144, available at everyotherthursday.com
