Here's Everything I Wanted to Buy at the Rose Bowl Flea Market
I didn't buy anything—but it's the hunt that matters...right?!!!
I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market for the first time yesterday despite living in LA for a year and a half. That might seem wild for a young jawnz enthusiast like myself, but when I first moved here covid was extremely on and popping and it wasn’t even taking place, and then I just sort of kept forgetting to go. Anyway, I am super glad I went because I had a lovely time and would definitely go back.
For those who don’t know, the Rose Bowl Flea Market takes place in the parking lot outside of the historic sports stadium in Pasadena, California. It is host to over 2,500 vendors and the flea is held on the second Sunday of every month.
My overall take on the selection was that I probably don’t need to see another pair of double knee pants or vintage rap tee ever again. That said…
Here’s some more detail about a few of the things I saw.
Vintage MA-1 Bomber
My friend Asaf was there and introduced me to a dude whose name I forgot but who is the Flea’s goat of military garb. My girl Katie copped some dope vintage white pants while I was partial to this MA-1 bomber that had an incredible cropped fit. Brands like The Real McCoys go to this guy to source the stuff they make recreations of, and I see why. If I didn’t own a great MA-1 already I would have definitely copped it for $175 but I do so that’s that. It’s about to be summer and it’s already 70 degrees every day in LA. One bomber will do!
