The Best Clothes I Saw In Italy
A recap of what I wore, plus my favorite shirts, shoes, pants and more I came across in Florence and Milan.
I just got back from a week-long work trip to Italy. During that time, I made videos for Pitti Uomo’s Instagram account, ate incredible food (shout out to Giacomo in Milan, the makers of a lobster linguine situation that truly might be the best pasta dish I’ve ever eaten), and, most importantly for the purposes of this newsletter, saw a certified fuck ton of clothes.
As such, in today’s post, I wanted to recap my trip in two parts: first, I laid out basically every outfit I wore over the course of the week, linking out to the shirts, pants, and shoes that I kept turning to in near 100 degree heat. This part I think you might find interesting because while I already broke down the things I packed, that’s not quite the same as what I actually wore. Plus, the pants I ended up rocking the most were actually ones that didn’t make my packing list, simply because they were added to my suitcase mere minutes before I headed to the airport.
In part two, I listed out the best clothes I saw during my time in Italy, from specific jackets that will be haunting my memory until the hit shelves next spring, to collections that I would gladly abandon my entire wardrobe to wear in full. I also broke down my visit to an incredible vintage store in Milan I came across, why I think I might be a guy who wears purple next year, and lots, lots more. Enjoy!!!

What I Wore
The main theme of the week was being extremely hot and sweaty—it was above 90 degrees almost every day, and, as lovely as Italy is, the country’s A/C situation still isn’t quite arctic enough for my (admittedly spoiled) American tastes. Anyway, this lead to me wear, as you’ll see, the lightest weight pants in my suitcase time and time again. That said, I still wanted to look put together, so for starters, no shorts (for some reason I have a mental block about them whenever I’m meeting people who I could potentially be doing business with), and no fit comprised just a plain T-shirt. Instead, I opted for a myriad of collared shirts including knit polos, tencel button ups, and vintage oxford shirts that had become featherweight after decades of washing. Shoes wise, I went back and forth between just two pairs—boat shoes and loafers, both in black, depending on the occasion or really just what I felt like on that particular day. Anyway, let’s get to it!
