10 Ways To Wear Summer's 10 Most Essential Style Items
The best items to wear this season, and your guide on how to wear 'em.
For today’s post, the word of the day is simplify. Even for dedicated shoppers, the sheer volume of garments available on any major brand site or retailer these days can be inundating, which in turn can make the task of figuring out what to wear this summer an overwhelming one. To help, I pared down the entire summer style market to its 10 most essential elements, locating not just the simplest, but what I think are some of the best-looking versions of the most important categories out there. Now, instead of just listing off items like I usually do, I took it a step further by laying out exactly how to wear them in ten different fits.
Am I saying these are the only things to have in lining your closet for the next 3-4 months? Not really. Personally I see this more as a great foundation that you can always fall back on while layering in other more seasonal or attention-grabby pieces. The idea, however, is pretty straight forward: if these were the only things you had to wear, you could essentially reach for them blind and always end looking pretty dang good no matter what. Plus, I honestly enjoy the challenge of figuring out outfit combos with a limited number of items to work with. You’ll also notice that the color palette is quite limited—white, navy blue, black, gray, and, uh, blue, which I did to help ensure that everything goes with everything. Anyway, let’s get to it. Enjoy!
