Perhaps the only thing I love as much as new clothes are old clothes that are new to me. The feelings of quality and nostalgia I get from putting on a garment that’s 20, 30, even 70 years old are ones I find romantic and extremely difficult to fully replicate in modern clothing (though don’t get me wrong—I absolutely adore new clothes that look like old clothes, too). That’s because vintage threads aren’t just often better-made than their contemporary equivalents—they literally traveled through time.
Anyway, this week my fondness for old attire led me to the following thought experiment: if I had to put together an entire fall wardrobe that consisted solely of vintage pieces, what would it would look like? Here, I’ve laid out the EXTENSIVE results: 100 EXAMPLES of the most stylish, highest quality, nostalgia-soaked gear I could find across the internet.
Included for your scrolling pleasure is basically every category a person could want in their closet this season: we’re talking multiple options for oversized cashmere coats, hard-wearing workwear jackets, perfectly-distressed jeans, snazzy shirts, cozy-as-can-be sweaters, luxurious loafers, and much, much more. As always, I stuck to the classics to make sure you’re scooping up gear that, while pre-loved, is waiting to have its next chapter written by you for years to come. Enjoy!!!
